What you'll be doing as Vice President of Product Management  

As a seasoned business leader with extensive product management experience, you’ll lead a team of product managers and data administrators who drive the features for our utility and industry SaaS products. The team is distinct from our sales, business development, marketing, and software engineering (development) teams, which are managed by other senior leaders. 

Product management at Clean Power Research is both inbound and outbound; it requires product and software engineering process savvy as well as customer empathy, market expertise, content development acumen and messaging prowess. Our product managers possessengineering, scientific, and technical other backgrounds and interact closely and routinely with their colleagues on our development teams. This role will direct the product managers to excellence of output individually for their product families and present the value-add of Clean Power Research products as a broader, integrated platform that has a clear roadmap for ongoing innovation. 

Our customers get to “vote” on our quality and value with every subscription renewal, so the VP of Product Management plays a key role in interacting with customers alongside our sales, business development, and customer success executives to ensure customer satisfaction.  

The VP of Product Management must also serve as a company expert in a number of areas, including pricing and licensing development, new business model conception, and enterprise IT trends/sensitivities. 

The position reports to the CEO and is a member of the Clean Power Research executive team. This is a hybrid role with an in-office requirement in our Bellevue Washington office. Expected travel <15%.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize and own market data on customers, competitors, pricing, regulation, opportunities, channels and partners
  • Work with sales, delivery, marketing and product management teams to identify, prioritize, engage, onboard, and manage software, channel, and implementation partners
  • Develop and execute top-of-funnel sales strategies to grow the sales pipeline for our sales team.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product management teams to create go-to-market strategy and plans for new markets including new geographies and market segments
  • Develop deep understanding of our products and markets
  • Anticipate new markets for CPR products and services, and develop related pilot opportunities and funding sources
  • Develop and deliver high quality technical and business process content to maintain CPR thought leadership position in areas such as transportation and building electrification, interconnection and incentive programs, energy efficiency, service requests, customer engagement, and other emerging areas
  • Develop and nurture industry relationships to better position CPR subject matter expertise around our products and services

Who You Are

  • 8+ years as a product manager or program manager (with customer-facing experience) including a track of record of success in director-level or more senior positions
  • B2B/enterprise software industry experience , SaaS experience a plus
  • Technical or scientific degree strongly preferred, MBA a plus Energy, renewable, solar or clean tech passion , experience a plus
  • Deep experience with enterprise SaaS operating models, including subscription pricing, renewals, expansions, and platform-based product portfolios
  • Existing positive reputation in energy or utility circles a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Comfortable using spreadsheets to model pricing, adoption, etc.
  • Superior organizational skills

Pay Range & Benefits

  • Base Salary Range: $175,000 to $255,000 annual depending on experience
