POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include supervision of financial reporting, the monthly closing process, oversight of all financial operations, general accounting, the budget process (annual preparation and monthly projections), and coordination of tax and audit services. This individual is also responsible for proactively identifying improvements to business processes and ways in which we can exploit AI technology.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting
·    Manage the annual budget process for a multi-channel, globally diverse apparel and fashion business; establish timeline and partner with functional leaders to develop revenue plans and operating expenses.
·    Develop working relationships and review processes with department heads. 
·    Generate monthly reporting to drive performance, income statements, balance sheets and departmental expenses                
·    Set standards for budget performance metrics and reporting 
·    Supervise entire finance organization 
·    Financial projections for Wholesale, Retail and Ecommerce 
 •   General & Operational Accounting Operations
·    Oversee A/P, A/R, Payroll, and General Accounting
·    Ensure monthly closings of multiple entities and divisions remain on calendar.  
·    Responsible for the integrity, audit compliance, and debt covenant compliance of all financial statements.
·    Coordinate the quarterly and annual income tax reporting and payment requirements with tax partner.         
·    Responsible for sales tax filing services and the equivalent international requirements.
·    Manage successful completion of annual banking and insurance audits by functioning as a key contact with external auditors
·    Oversee intercompany and foreign entity accounting
•    Leadership and People Development
·    Maintain a strong focus on process improvement opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the function 
·    Lead a culture of strategic and innovative thinking by teaching/mentoring others on “the big picture”
·    Effectively influence beyond direct reporting lines; build collaborative business partnerships internally and externally
·    Facilitate processes/programs as needed cross-functionally
·    Attract, develop, and retain high caliber talent
·    Actively support Diversity, Equity + Inclusion initiatives
 
REQUIREMENTS:
•    15 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a manager level role in a multi-entity business
•    Retail / Wholesale / Apparel Industry experience is a plus
•    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills that leverage quantitative and qualitative data 
•    Must be able to effectively summarize and communicate information (verbal and written) to support decision making.
•    Work history demonstrating growth and increasing responsibility. 
•    Detail-oriented with strong time management and organization skills 
•    Exceptional Excel skills
•    A hands-on approach and must work with subordinates and peers to implement the best practices approach to all financial processes
•    Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

$225,000 - $275,000 base salary (This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NJ - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other AO employees.)
