Reporting to the Head of Business Development, AmTrust Insurance, the Vice President of Business Development is responsible for carrying out the sales functions and goals of AmTrust North America, with a focus on assigned National Agency relationships. AmTrust North America is a $6B Commercial Lines, Cyber, E&S brokerage, Executive, and Program carrier.
This position will work with current and prospective national partners to identify opportunities to expand our trading relationships, then collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process. In addition to work on prospecting and onboarding new relationships, the individual will also work on an on-going basis with the balance of the team to engage with and service evolving needs of existing client relationships. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
· Identify, prospect and qualify significant partnerships via National Agency relationships.
· Steward new national and retail partnership opportunities through a multi-faceted due diligence process engaging across several different disciplines including Sales, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Legal, Operations, Loss Control, and Compliance.
· Maintain continuous understanding of key client concerns and challenges specific to the particular market niche they serve and leverage internal resources to maximize program potential and client satisfaction.
· Lead participation in key conferences and industry events that are critical to the visibility of AmTrust.
· Analyze Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for AmTrust North America and engage in strategic efforts to maintain and increase relevance in a competitive market space.
· Must possess +10 years of relevant commercial insurance business development or production underwriting experience.
· Must possess an understanding of the commercial and specialty insurance marketplace and recent experience in this market.
· Must be able to demonstrate exceptional written and oral presentation skills.
· Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and developing relationships.
· Bachelor's degree required.
· Ability to travel as required.
The expected salary range for this role is $157,800 -$250,000/year.
