Senior Assistant Vice President - Business Analytics

Pay Range: $150,000K/Yr - $220,000K/Yr

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analytics Manager to join our team who specializes in delivering advanced data solutions for US-based clients in banking and financial services. This role involves a deep understanding of the credit market, investment strategy, researching and analyzing financial data along with identifying, assessing, and managing risks associated with private credit investment portfolios.

This is a full-time onsite role based out of our client’s office in Manhattan in New York, United States.

Responsibilities:

This is a Business Analytics role which requires the individual to be hands-on-subject-matter expert of either Financial Analytics and Risk Analytics in financial services industry. As part of this role the individual will be expected to provide expertise and advisory to the customer based on Data Analysis, Qualitative Due Diligence and creating high impact dashboards. Experience in Credit Risk, Loss Forecasting, Portfolio monitoring, Financial analytics will be preferred. 

Additionally, in this role, this person will have to act as an onsite coordinator for the offshore team. The individual is expected to have excellent communication and delegation skills. The role will include becoming the front face of the offshore team to present outcomes to the client stakeholders and gather requirements.

Key Responsibilities - 

• Data Analytics Solutions: Design, develop, and implement robust data analytics solutions to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Snowflake data warehouse and prepare dashboards. Use mathematical or statistical modeling techniques to perform exploratory analysis - build hypotheses, run regressions, find patterns, and document the solution approach
• Data Analysis: Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Implement analytical frameworks for predictive analytics and data-driven decision support. Use the knowledge of data modeling, operations research, statistics to solve real world business problems such as risk assessment, cross-selling, loss estimation, etc. 
• Reports and Dashboards: Create reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders. Utilize Streamlit to create interactive and visually compelling dashboards that communicate complex data insights in an easily understandable manner.
• Collaboration: Work with business analysts, clients and other stakeholders to understand business requirements for analytical solutions to be developed by self and the offshore team. Deliver high quality client services, including documentation within expected timeframes.
• Project Management: Break down project goals into specific tasks involving business analysis, data analysis and data engineering. Divide and assign tasks for Business Problem Definition, Data Preparation, Exploratory Analysis, Model Development and Implementation, Model Validation and Testing, Insights Generation, Hypothesis Testing and Scenario Analysis, Presentation etc.
• Organization Building: Support business development team in winning new data analytics projects by providing proof-of-concept solutions. Recruiting interviews to hire new employees to build world-class analytics talent

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or a related field.
• Industry Experience: Previous experience (At least 7 years) in analytics, preferably in BFSI. Good knowledge in Financial Analytics, Banking Analytics
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python & SQL is essential. Hands-on experience with Snowflake, AWS Sage maker. Experience in financial modeling and valuations
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Past experience in problem solving roles, strategic initiatives etc. 
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
