The Patient Access Manager manages the day-to-day activities of all patient access areas including: registration in pre-surgery center, admitting, assessment center, imaging/advanced imaging scheduling and registration, all lab registration areas, patient access coordinators, as well as other registration areas. Acts as registration and insurance resource for hospital staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a business-related field; Supervisory experience in a healthcare setting may be substituted for degree.
  • CHAM or CHAA certification required within one year of hire.
  • Five years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the efficiency of existing programs and the need for new programs. Assists director in identifying, planning and implementing changes in patient access processes.
  • Works with supervisors to ensure patients are registered at the appropriate location and within the required time frame.
  • Works with department leads and supervisors to ensure staff meet quality review expectations, daily and weekly productivity expectations and/or accuracy expectations.
  • Reviews and audits collection data for patient access areas. Conducts cash audits according to department policy to ensure cash security and collection procedures are followed by patient access staff.
  • Reviews, monitors and reports Epic data as needed to ensure operational efficiency and success.
  • Ensures supervisors provide thorough and ongoing training for patient access staff and maintains related documentation. Identifies training needs for existing staff and arranges training on an ongoing basis.
  • Keeps informed of current TJC, HIPAA, CMS and ADA regulations and takes necessary steps to ensure departmental compliance.
  • Assists director with budget preparation.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Full-Time;

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay Range:

Salary/Exempt

$63,000 – $91,000; based off work experience
